The Bottineau County Road Department spent Sept 30 and Oct 1 in Kramer cutting damaged culverts, installing a new end to the culvert that was damaged at 3rd Avenue and Amos, and cleaning out culvert openings along Amos and 3rd Avenue down to the watershed. The county also redid the watershed with the finesse needed to ensure water flowed under the tracks unimpeded. This should reduce the chances of flooding on the east side of town considerably. Next year we must clean out the ditch on the north side of 3rd Avenue out to the watershed and the west side of town needs some work on culverts and a few ditches. I promised the county, the city will have a dump trailer to haul off the excess from the ditches next year..
Update: The council approved the spring project at the 5 October 2025 council meeting and directed that a dump trailer be found in town and donation was preferable, but a fee for use of the dumper was considered acceptable.
BELOW: The City of Kramer wishes to thank Mary B. Deferrari, the property owner where the watershed is located, for giving the city and county permission to clear the soil and debris buildup that had prevented water to escape the city wastewater ditches and flow south away from town. We have sent a photograph and thank you letter.
