Kramer Rolling Skate Rink Rejuvenation Project 2025-2026

  • 7 new safety helmets, mixed sizes, 5 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and signage at entryway (entry fee and skating rules) Minot Walmart grant
  • 2 skating aids for new skaters funded by Kuhnenn donation, already put together and at the rink office
  • Wire shelves for skate storage and sorting funded by anonymous donation, already put together and at the rink office
  • Security lockers for skaters (Available at $120)
  • Floors cleaned - city funded,  done by city auditor, council president and council member and her brother 
  • Painting (entryway, office area, some wall areas) est. $36.00
  • 3 holes in walls fixed (est $25)
  • Fixed lighting and used Hide Cord to cover ground level electrical extensions funded by anonymous donation
  • Sump pump electrical connection funded by anonymous donation
  • Panic doors est $189.00 (gaming request not approved)
  • 3 deadbolts for city hall doors. City funded. One installed and two in storage at city hall
  • Floor cleaning machine and pads (available at $399)
  • Floor mats entryway – est $150.00 and floor mats at tables – est $150.00
  • Heavy Duty Multi-Surface Push Broom est $27.00
  • Acquire rotating multi-colored light for floor effects – Estimate $50.00

What is needed for our existing roller skates

  • Salvage parts from old skates in attic space and under stairs – in progress. There are still a lot of unusable skates, but other needs control our time at the moment
  • Remove unusable skates from shelving and rearrange usable skates – done by CW  Peters and Auditor Timbrook
  • New laces - obtained 15 pair with grant and CWJ Peters found unused laces while cleaning the shelves used for storing skates and these were washed
  • New skate inserts/insoles – (est $40)
  • Clean old skates still in use - done by M Timbrook

Donations, Grants, Gaming Funds for Project

  • City of Bottineau Walmart Grant request: $300.00 for skating drinks and food 2025-2026 - funds expended
  • City of Minot Walmart Grant request: $500.00 for skating safety helmets and 4 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and entryway signage - funds expended
  • Donation (Anonymity requested) $200.00 - Few dollars remaining will most likely be used to purchase insoles
  • Westhope Community Grant request: $1,000.00 for new skates - funds expended
  • Kuhnenn Motorcycle Club Donation: $250.00 - funds expended
