Tim from the Bottineau County Road Department spent part of yesterday (Sept 30) and today in Kramer cutting damaged culverts, installing a new end to the culvert that was damaged at 3rd Avenue and Amos, and cleaning out culvert openings along Amos and 3rd Avenue down to the watershed. Tim also redid the watershed with the finesse needed to ensure water flowed under the tracks unimpeded.  Thanks to Tim for the hard work and perseverance. Thanks to Ritchie for fitting Kramer in a busy fall schedule. Thanks to JJ for the scheduling and keeping Kramer in the system and tolerating my constant phone calls.  These people are made of gold - super job!!!! This should reduce the chances of flooding on the east side of town considerably.  Next year we must clean out the ditch on the north side of 3rd Avenue out to the watershed and the west side of town needs some work on culverts and a few ditches. I promised Tim the city will have a dump trailer to haul off the excess from the ditches next year..   HUA!

Update: The council approved the spring project at the 5 October 2025 council meeting and directed that a dump trailer be found in town and donation was preferable, but a fee for use of the dumper was considered acceptable.

HELP WANTED:   This coming spring the county is providing an excavator and operator, to do more culvert and ditch work in the city. To keep the costs down, we must provide a dump trailer.  We have the truck to do the pulling and the operator but need help in acquiring the dump trailer.  If your interested in renting your dump trailer for our one-day use or wish to donate its use to the city, please give us a call.  The dirt will be hauled to the city landfill to use as fill and cover in the 2026 landfill burn. We are planning this project now to ensure in happens this spring.  Thanks.
